Dr. Philip Mifsud is a Senior Associate at GANADO Advocates having graduated Doctor of Laws in 2011. Dr. Mifsud completed a Masters degree at University College London (UCL) in 2013 which focused on Intellectual Property law with special attention being given to Copyright and Patent law. Dr. Mifsud is a warranted advocate qualified to appear before the Courts of Malta. Dr. Mifsud regularly advises clients of the firm in relation to data protection and intellectual property law matters including assisting clients with their data protection and privacy compliance obligations whether at initial phase of a company’s existence as well as in relation to the company’s ongoing privacy obligations, both in terms of internal procedures vis-à-vis employees as well as third parties interacting with the company. He has assisted and guided a number of clients, from a diverse range of industries and market sectors (including insurance, banking, gaming and real estate) with adapting and adhering to data protection legislation (pre and post GDPR) as well as having conducted a number of data protection audits in order to identify any data privacy gaps that may exist within an organisation. He also provides regular support to data protection officers (DPOs). Philip also regularly assists clients in all corporate matters including advice on corporate governance matters, assistance with corporate financing, M&A transactions, voluntary dissolutions and various other corporate transactional projects.
