[ONLINE] Place of Supply Rules 19 June
The scope of the session is to identify the main provisions in the Maltese VAT Act Cap.406 of the Laws of Malta and the EU VAT Directive 2006/112/EC regulating the place of supply and discuss the correct manner in which such provisions are to be interpreted from a Maltese VAT perspective with a view to understanding:
- how the place of supply of particular transactions can be determined.
- whether it is possible to identify any VAT opportunities by shifting the place of supply to/from Malta
- how to avoid any pitfalls of determining the wrong place of supply
Seminar Description
The scope of the session is to identify the main provisions in the Maltese VAT Act Cap.406 of the Laws of Malta and the EU VAT Directive 2006/112/EC regulating the place of supply and discuss the correct manner in which such provisions are to be interpreted from a Maltese VAT perspective with a view to understanding:
• how the place of supply of particular transactions can be determined.
• whether it is possible to identify any VAT opportunities by shifting the place of supply to/from Malta
• how to avoid any pitfalls of determining the wrong place of supply
In order to do so, apart from the respective legislations, reference will also be made to relevant CJEU Cases, VAT Department Guidelines, Council Implementing Regulations and other relevant literature.
Participation and feedback would be encouraged together with using practical and worked examples to make the session much more interesting, useful and relevant for all attendees.
Participants will be encouraged to raise any VAT queries they might have in connection with these and related to discuss the respective VAT implications.
Qualifies for 2 CPE CORE hours under the core competency area.

The course fee is €50.00 Non-Members €45.00 For Members. The fee covers seminar participation and access to event resources. Login details will be provided closer to the date.
