GAPSME: Applicability & Accounting Considerations- 10 & 17 September
Local small and medium-sized companies are allowed to apply simplified accounting
regulations (General Accounting Principles for Small and Medium-Sized Entities,
commonly referred to as GAPSME), rather than International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). These regulations have been amended by LN 41 of 2024 and this four-hour course will be based on the amended version. This online course shall be split in two sessions of two hours each. The first two-hour session aims to provide attendees with a sound understanding of the applicability of GAPSME. This will include all the aspects that entities and groups must consider and assess when deciding whether they are entitled to apply GAPSME. This session will also clarify what changes occur when an entity applying GAPSME grows from ‘small-sized’ to ‘medium-sized’. During the second 2-hour session, we’ll be delving into the accounting considerations for GAPSME preparers. Most of the GAPSME areas will be covered at a high level, but a special emphasis placed on those areas where there is a difference between IFRS and GAPSME.
